When I got mine, it was a stock style computer and with the super-trap exhaust…I'd bet it was at the most 175.
    Why 200? ….sales gimmick?

Probably because it easily felt like 200HP in that car!

    Re: 1990 Consulier GTP Targa

Even though Super Trapp exhausts aren't the best for turbo applications, I have to figure that with as short as that system is on that car it could have easily reduced the backpressure of the system enough to gain some power. Now, whether it was 25hp worth....eh, hard to say. I'd be interested to see one put on a dyno as well as have the calibration downloaded to see if it's any different than a stock TII.

I always assumed it had the equivalent of an MP cal in it...but that was always just an assumption.

It only has very minor differences from a Daytona T2 cal. I don't I remember off the top of my head what all they were, but its definitely NOT like can MP cal.

Yeah, probably just like the 174 or 175 HP quoted for the VNT.

Really Cool car, great to see some of you guys putting these babies back together! When I retire the P/T out of The Charger I should snap one of these up and proceed to strike terror and Fear into ever Supercar ever built!

    Re: 1990 Consulier GTP Targa

On this build, sent the rear shocks to Bilstein for rebuild. Got a call today, they are ready to get started. Needed an okay, told me the price and wanted a $100 deposit.
$75 each plus $15 for new shaft (12mm and needs to go to 14mm) Plus $60 for machine work or something.
    Plus might be more.
So $250 at least to have them done. She said don't be surprised if it went a little over $300.

New are $242.55 each AND not in stock. They are a custom build, takes a while!

The rebuild…she said 3 to 6 week turn around. Ouch!
Might not make the Spring Fling in CA if is on the long side.

    I forgot to add this….
I took my Consulier to the weight scale at the local steel yard scrap place on 9-26-2013
Without anyone in the car. No engine cover, no rear window, no targa tops….
    2320 pounds

I'd say the scale is off. Also how loud is it in the coockpit without an engine cover and rear window? Oh the sacrifices made to drive a Consulier.

I don't think so. They are required to have them checked by the Weights and Measures gov agency.
"IF" they were off, I'd think they would be low to not pay so much for scrap.

It is okay for local driving. But on long trips I put on earphones that cover the ears and listen
    to music or audio books.

Maybe you were on the scrap selling scale, not the scrap buying scale!!!

    Thanks

I can say the engine cover may weigh 7 lbs if that. Glass have no idea and roof have no idea. Maybe missing 25 lbs of parts? So maybe 2350 without driver.

Sounds like scale is accurate but you couldn't hop in to see if it was accurate?

Perhaps the scale accuracy is the delta between in and out not true weight.

Good point, absolute accuracy isn't what they care about, just that a to b is consistent.

Maybe try a public scale like what truckers use to ensure they're not overweight ...

Any possibility that the car has extra reinforcement because of the targa roof? (ie. the roof is structure. So if you take out structure out in one place, you have to put structure in elsewhere?)
