Man - took the Shelby Z to work this morning. It was only 32 degrees. Tons of power and these tires hate the cold - even 2nd gear is useless
Just a question for anyone that has driven a FWD car with an LSD - how does it react when the tires break loose under straight line acceleration? Without LSD, my car is really tough to handle when it breaks loose, and I never know which way it will want to pull.
A worm gear type LSD will tend to apply power to the side with more traction so in a situation where neither wheel has grip, both will spin. With both spinning the car can drift/float to the side. The side could be to the right, for example on a crowned road, but sometimes to the left. firm grip on the wheel.
What is more fun, and needs some practice to use effectively, is how the car will pull itself to the inside of a turn under power
