Mines arrived at the trans shop a few days ago. Thanks Wah!
Well gentleman. That concludes this episode of who wants a quaife.
Thanks to all who participated and to Chris at Turbos Unleashed and his European Contact for taking care of the ordering and the behind the scenes work.
If anyone needs another quaife we have 2 remaining. Contact Chris at Turbos Unleashed. $1250 THEY ARE NOT, BUT you don't have to wait months either. Cash and Carry for instant gratification.

well thanks to this thread , I found TU had the Quaife diff but as of mid march '14 I believe they are all gone as I was told "1 left " when I bought mine
so now there would be none
so THANKS
this thread was like a homeing beacon leading me to the lsd I wanted
just wondering if anyone who was part of this group buy that ALSO was in the driveshaftshop axles group buy? I"ve been struggling to get my axles in and it's the diff.. wondering what was the solution to the tightness of the axles going in? there just isn't enough clearance.

Are they not engaging in the sun gear splines, or are they binding up in the housing?
While I wouldn't expect this from a Quaife, if it's the housing that's causing the issue, you can go at it with a brake cylinder hone. This has worked for many OBX units out there with axle fitment issues once the carrier bearings are pressed on.

If it ain't broke, fix it 'till it is!
Remember on Quaife diffs you have to trim something like 1/4" off the end of the inside splines.
Also, yes, the splines can be very tight...almost to the point of needing to be "registered". I suggest busting out a file and making sure there are no burrs and the splines are straight.
I have heard some say the axle ends need to be cut, other not. What's the story?

when I first got my diff I was told to cut a bottle cap sized piece off the pass side axle end (at the diff)
I should be able to let you know soon enough. I got the intermediate shaft reassembled this evening. I have 4 bearings (input shaft and differential) to order, and several seals and I'll have a working transmission. Hopefully have it together by mid March. I'll do a test fit of the axles on the bench.
