Since I don't have a dash to speak of in Matchbox....so fitment is not an issue...will a older P body speedo read the same as an L body one. I already run the speedo gear at the cable end from a minivan to run taller tires/better mpgs and less revs.

It's electric vs. the mechanical gauge of the L body if I'm not mistaken. Is Matchbox still carbed?
The 87-88...89 also? use a cable just like the "L" bodies...
