Have you ran 225-50x15 tires on a 6" wide rim?
Better or worse than running the normal 205-50 x 15?

I don't like to run more than a 205 on a 6" rim.
Been lots of discussion on this over the years on SRTForums.
Since the stock SRT-4 wheels are 6" everyone wants to put crazy sizes on them.
What about 215's?
I looked for 215 at tirerack and nothing...but I'll check more.

I don't think there's much to be gained from going to a 225 on a 6" wheel. I've found that a 205 is pretty much ideal IMO.
I wanted to compare the 215, but seems no one is selling that size now.

A low profile 215 has never been very popular. We are indebted to the Porsche guys for the 205/50r15 and 225./50r15 being around still. They came on 911s, 944s, and I believe 928s throughout the late 70s and most of the 80s if I'm not mistaken. There was a Mazda speed 3 I think in the late 90s that took the 205/50 way after it had died off everywhere else.
205 front 225 rear.. sharper feel in front, more rubber to heat sink rear. Or just ship some 16x8 wheels!

I dont have 16x8 wheels. I do have 15x8 though. Will they fit? What size tire?
I guess I'll stick with the 205's and if I want larger, that can come later.

Did the 15x8 fit?
On the rear, but not the front.

I have drag radials 225-50s on eggshell wheels, I remember them being a pain in the --- to install, and they sure do stick out a bunch. I wouldnt run these for anything besides drag radials and straight lines, otherwise i'd go 205 I think, I have not seen 215s on 6in rims though.

Ive done 205 and 225 back to back on 6" wheels and the 205 drove a lot better. Overall traction was close to the same but the 225s gave a very vague and disconcerting feel when changing direction and made the car uncomfortable to drive fast.
205 is the widest i would go on 6".
Dont push the red button. You hear me?
