so i have had multiple asd relays on this thing always throws 42 right away
and what the hell is 61, it does not show up right away but after a few runs on it it will pop up usually
its a socketed smec on s60 wiring

Code 55 is the end of all codes. Anything past that may be due to the cal in the ecm.
61 is usually related to the on-board EEPROM. Not sure why you get that one.
The 42 is for the ASD, but it means that the SMEC isn't seeing the 12v on the ASD input line. If the engine starts and runs, it's clearly not a bad ASD (the ASAD supplies the 12v for the fuel pump, injectors, and ign coil)..
The ASD input is a white 18ga wire, pin 10 on the SMEC. Check that that wire exists in the harness, and that it has continuity to the 12v output on the ASD relay (should be the grn/blk wire). I'm not sure where the white wire is spliced into the ASD output. Maybe in the dash; both wires go thru the 50-way bulkhead.
can you check the cal see if there is an issue within it? or could it be an issue with my socketed smec?
i will check on the asd tomorrow
No, the 42 couldn't be anything in the cal or related to the socket.
The socket not being installed correctly or the bored being damaged?
Or just something that's gonna be there and ignore it?
It could be a damaged board, but that input is no where near the chip or socket so it can't be related to it being socketed.
If the socket is bad, it wouldn't give you a code 42 - it just wouldn't run.
Okay so with the right asd and a battery reset still throws 42 61 and now another 42 after 61
Checked connection between the white smec wire and the black and green wire at asd that's good

Well I ran this computer with no codes before on my old 89 Daytona
