Old service manuals on CD

Due to circumstances beyond my control, my set of 1989 service manuals were just destroyed.

Got me thinking has anyone ever scanned the service manuals and loaded them on cd? I realize that is a ton of work, but the reality is they are becoming scarce. May be a good way to keep the info available.

There is a legitimate distributor($$), as well as a copy of the 86 manual floating around in the usual places. I talked with Chrysler's legal team about being able to make the FSMs available electronically for the community and they shot it down.
