I'm getting gas in my oil. Car runs fine, but thins the oil out TERRIBLY (Its almost like 2 cyl oil after driving it 130 miles). It also is burning oil. I'm not getting any in the cylinders or the breather, but it smokes worse than a forest fire. anyone have any ideas?
Turbo..oil is pretty thin once hot. Does it go away during acceleration/driving down the road?
It does get a little thicker when cold but strongly smells like gas. It only appears to smoke when on decel or at a warm idle. Was thinking the o-rings on the injectors are bad and the exhaust seal on the turbo was leaking to make it smoke. your thoughts, Trannybuster? (or anyone else)
Turbo....to burn that much oil in cylinders would cause plug fouling and other issues.
Have you done a compressor test? Sounds like your motor is toasted.
the plugs get a little soot on them but they don't foul. Was planning to take it to New Castle, IN this coming weekend and hopefully sell it. I had an 85 YEARS AGO that I loved, but the previous owner cobbled this one too much for me to fix, I think. I know I could get a new turbo, but I'm affraid that won't fix it. plus I want one that still has the 5spd rather than the A413. I wanted to have this as a toy, but I'm not sure what else needs straightened out on it. been a real heart-breaker for me

compression is fine.
What is the compression? Do a leakdown test. Pics of the plugs? Do you have an AF gauge or wideband?

found out the problem is a bad intake gasket. solution is that I hope to be selling it this weekend to a guy in New Castle IN
