87 Glhs 433- now in my garage!

I saw this car come up for sale on craigslist about a year ago, but unfortunately didn't have room for it at the time. Then a few weeks ago, it reappeared for sale (long distance buyer couldn't pull off shipping the inop car) and I was able to pick it up! The car came with a complete 85 drivetrain/a525, a couple boxes of parts, and a new positive impressions decal kit for the repaint it badly needs.

Since the car was purchased by the last owner in 03 the car has spent the majority of the time covered under a carport, up on jackstands with a bad starter. Here is a link to a td thread from when the car was listed on ebay in 03' http://www.turbododge.com/forums/f1/...bay-today.html.

    A bit about the car

    89k miles
ZERO RUST- see the undercarriage pic!
all original/ only mod is a mp computer and a boost gauge
all shelby/oe pieces in tact (I took the near perfect centurions and ancient rubber off today)

New starter, fuel tank/pump and system cleaning, and some brake work and I hit the streets for a 10 mile trip!

Great car, it looks like it doesnt need to much and you're already on the things it did need. Tires were no doubt rotted from sitting for years and while you were at replacing those, you scored some pretty cool rims I'm thinking 433 is much better off with you than the PO BTW do you know Tom Walsh? I haven't talked to him in a year or so but he has had many Shelby's over the years.

They are centerline storms (17x7, 11lbs each). I ran them on my srt4, then my pt gt, and since then they've been sitting in a corner- so its a good time to use up the tires mounted on them. Plus they look better on the s than they did on the other cars!

I've had a few #'d cars over the years, but the only other glhs I had met its end when an elderly woman made a quick left in front of me in the mid 90's! I've been pretty patient about buying another because I really don't plan on ever selling it, and I really don't want to put the time and $ money into something I would intend to eventually get rid of.

I've never met Tom, is he a Tucson guy?

Tom is in Tucson, he would love to shoot the breeze about Shelby Dodges with a 'local. Plus chances are he still has GLHS parts, not that your car needs anything PM me and I'll send you his digits.

That's a clean shelby, no doubt about that.

That is really nice, thanks for sharing the photos, 87 GLHS's are getting harder and harder to come by nowadays even more so w/o rust and all original pieces intact.

The car sat for 10 years because it needed a starter? Really? What a sweet find.
