    Shift cable adjustment.

I've been cruising through the search feature and can't find what I'm looking for. How are the cables from the shifter to an A555 adjusted? I broke one of my cables the other day and decided I should replace both while I'm in there. Any help would be appreciated, this is my first 2.2 car ('90 Consulier GTP).

Put the car in neutral, set the brake and pop the hood. On top of the transmission near the reverse switch there should be a small sticky-upy pin looking thing. Take it out with a deep 10mm socket. Now there's a hole. Flip the pin around and thread it back in. This will lock the transmission in the 3-4 neutral position. Now you can go adjust your shifter cables to center the shifter.

I'm 95% sure I'm right. It might need to be locked in the 1-2 neutral position instead, but I'm pretty sure its the 3-4.
