I have Slugmobile's one. I replaced with a Peloquin.
Don't have any idea of value though.

peloquin is the only option these days. i dont think slugs old posi would survive in my car, i had a phantom grip years ago. im running a spool now and its too hard on the car for street use/abuse. my car in full tune should make around 500hp. i was hoping for another option like te obx i have in my other setup.
You may be better off getting a new Peloquin then. I've bought two of them one in Slug and on for Mini's new tranny.
You might be able to get it for $950 dealing with them directly. I was able to get a discount on the second one. Anywhere from 1000-1100 from venders.

If you can get machine work for a decent price you can just put the obx in the auto. I think it needs a ring gear spacer.

I'm glad you replaced that.

I had one of those spring loaded block insert things once. Didn't really help much. I used it in conjunction with a "bulletproof" spider gear shaft.
In defense of the spider shaft, i never tried to fire a bullet at it. It may very well have able to withstand that better than it survived a short time in it's intended function.

oh, i see now, it's basically a phantom grip.
That is what was available for use back in the early/mid 90's.
By comparison there is more parts and support for our cars now in some respects than when they were newish!

I can't tell from the picture if this is a Future Auto unit or not but the Future Auto unit was far superior to any phantom grip. They actually used a clutch between the axle gears and the carrier and face of the axle gears were machined smooth.
Thanks

I can inspect and try to get a better pic. Either that or I'll pack it up an bring it with me to sdac for show&tell. Although I don't think Seth will be there, and he would be the best person to ask.

Oh wow, a REAL limited slip conversion. That's pretty cool. I would think a clutch type limited slip would wear out pretty quickly on a FWD, especially with the ridiculous spring pressures of something like a phantom grip. But while it worked it would work well.I can't tell from the picture if this is a Future Auto unit or not but the Future Auto unit was far superior to any phantom grip. They actually used a clutch between the axle gears and the carrier and face of the axle gears were machined smooth.

Yeah you're already ok with doing a 12-point turn on a 4-lane highway so why not, eh? Just messing with you.
