Any other seals that might fit? I need to swap springs very soon (blowing them open) and would Like to find a set of seals to put on while I am at it.

What is wrong with the stock seals? They work perfectly fine and are cheap.

I've had a few of them pop off my less than 1000 mile rebuilt head. I was looking for something to keep that from happening again.

Maybe a low grade seal? Valve guide dropped? Notch on guide not deep enough? Honestly, never had that happen to me in too many years to count unless there was a guide issue or the seals went rock hard.

I dunno. Tyler VanLant did this head for me with +1mm valves, Comp 942 springs and all new guides, etc. The seals I took off look just like the new mopar viton seals I bought from FWDP and are still pliable, but some had just ridden up off the guide a little bit.

Weird, maybe the guides don't have the catch groove deep enough!

I don't encourage 'fixing' things this way, but if your head has low miles and you can't get the seals to seat or stay seated, I cleaned mine really good, dabbed some silicone on the inside of the seal where it seats on the head and then put them in place. So far I have had no issues with them backing off or anything. Doesn't take much silicone either, just enough to have a thin coat on the inside of the seal, but make sure everything is clean and free of oil if you do this, otherwise it will prove ineffective.

I've been using the blue viton seal on everything lately. I haven't had any issues with them coming off the guides on any of the engines I used them on. I think the ones that fit the 8V engines are these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Manley-Valve...2f98af&vxp=mtr
