    Any interest in 1986 GLHS

Hi, I recently purchased a one owner 86 GLHS. it is what I call a California garage find. No rust just completly faded paint and patina. It has just over a 100,000 miles runs great. Interior is sun burned dash has some cracks. This car was never modded just driven to work. It has new tires new radiator. It does need a clutch. Im wondering if there is any interest here or should I go the usual methods of sale. I did not post this as a for sale thread. I cant give it a restoration so I thought I would see if this is something of interest.

Take a ton of pics and post them up on here in the for sale section. There is always interest in 86' S cars.

Please post some pictures.....A Few years back there was a young kid with a GLHS Charger that I ran into at an apartment complex while at work for At&t.....I had just purchased my $200 Shelby Charger and I wish I would have given that kid $400 he was asking at that time but I was worried about my wife getting upset about buying 2 of these cars within a month or 2 of each other.....The Kid's front tires were both bald as hell and He told me how he loved whipping up on those Honda Boys.....and driving it was a blast!

Re: Any interest in 1986 GLHS

Well I have had this 86 now for about 2 months and I cant believe the lack of knowledge people have that proclaim to know all about shelby cars. I thought it would sell locally but there is so little interest and people know nothing of the car. I thought people would show interest in a one owner car but it just seems that there isnt any interest. I now will have to fix it up a little so I can drive it. I plan to repace the front seats with some better driving seats. I wanted to put some srt-4 seats in but there arnt any locally anymore so I am looking to the aftermarket. Are there any favored seats that people run besides the srt-4. Thanks

I don't think you'll find any that will bolt in, which means you'll have to fabricate some adapters regardless, so I'd say find some seats you like and can afford, and go with those, but do keep the originals, they are starting to become desirable as they become more scarce.

BTW, you never posted pictures, nothing inspires desire like a picture...

Upload them somewhere and then post a link to them? Photobucket is pretty easy.

I wish I had money. I'd drive across the bay right now and buy it.

Add it to ebay. I sold my CSX-T that way when I had no one interested.

If I weren't going on a big trip soon I would be thinking very hard about it myself.

why does california have to be so far away? If it was more local I would be all over it. GLWS

Sorry if I missed it but what number is the car and is the dash plaque still there?

California is pretty close when you consider that you have to have to go back in time to find rust free Lbodies pretty much anywhere else.

Indeed. There aren't many Deloreans capable of achieving 88mph any longer. When you factor in the cost of one, the plane ticket to CA looks much more reasonable.

Sheesh, I just drove THROUGH Redwood City! on a three day 750 mile tour of tight NorCal roads on Saturday, Sunday and Monday with 70 guys and gals riding pre-1971 motorcycles.

Its number 381 and yes there is a plaque. Im at the point of putting a clutch in it now and then I will probably keep it for a beater.

I agree rust free ones are hard to come by. I also have too many projects going on right now and not room for another car.

    current project waiting reassembly:
