ECU Interchange????

I would like to know if you can use a different ECM when your haveing it reflashed, other than the original module? In example could you use a 89 EFI module to flash to a 89 TII module? Are the modules all the same with just different software or are there electrical differences in the boards themselves??

There are differences, some boards lack the transistors to drive the wastegate, etc, but any turbo board can be calibrated to run any of the various cals, with TIIIs being an exception.

Thank you thats what I needed to know!! So a TI can be converted to a TII, cool.

Yep, just load the cal. You may need to rearrange the boost control lines, as the T1 and TII use different routing.
