I love the camber and caster adjust-ability.

I wonder if there is a cheaper bolt up option than a t56? I don't want a t5....those are weak.

There not that weak. Gotta find one out of a turbo coupe or a 5.0 mustang. Those t5 are actually pretty stout. Well there called the world class t5.

Get a small block chevy adapter bellhousing for an ax15 and bolt an r154 to it instead? I doubt that is much cheaper.

Nv3500... had it in my s10. No quick shifts and anything over 300 your now have a grenade with a pin pulled waiting for it to explode. That is the only 5 speed in checy trucks from mid 80s maybe to 2002 or 3. That is why all the v8 camaros and Firebirds went over to the t56 as power was increased.

Well, decided to stick with the good ol' redblock thats in the car. Its a B230, so it has the smaller rods, but that doesnt matter because its getting a set of forged H-beams, and this will be sitting on top.

My plans are Forged H-beams, Forged pistons, Holset HX35, Megasquirt, and home built manifolds.

There are a bunch of trans swap kits already out there made to go to a world class T5, and that sounds good to me.

Is that the 3-piece head? (combustion chamber/valves, lifter bucket girdle, cam support) I've worked on 1 a LONG time ago if it is. It was in a boat of all things OLD Volvo Penta) I'd love to see good pictures of it because it is layed out very close to the Masi head IIRC, and it is also a very similar design as to what the Hans Herman head was supposed to have been from what I understand.

Yes it is a 3 piece head and this one came off a fresh water boat. There are a few cars running 1000+ HP in sweden with this head.

It will not fit a 2.2/2.5 block if that is what you're after. Not even close.

Re: New Project. I have gone RWD

I think this is the head a buddy of mine was working on adapting to his 2.3L Ford SVO... IIRC, he was telling me that some guys in Europe had done the conversion with great results!

The one thing that required work was that the head didn't cover the back water passages on the Ford block...

I'd still like to know if the bore spacing is the same... probably not, or we'd have had someone install a Eslinger head on one of our blocks by now... or so one might think!
