I have a 1992 Daytona and the third brake light is not working. It should only come on when you press the brakes, right? The tail lights turn on when I hit the brakes but the 4 lights above the license plate do not. Am I missing something here? I was swapping the bulbs out last night and I noticed pressing the brakes did not turn them on. Here is a pic of the back of my car. Could it be a fuse, I am not sure...
The cyclops or third brake light operates on a separate circuit than the tailights. Check your owners manual or FSM for fuse or circuit. Could always break out the VOM tool and see if you have power/ground to light.

Broke out the trouble light tonight to diagnose and right away I had power to the rear lights with the pedal depressed. So I did some more hunting and 2 bulbs were bad while the other two needed to have the sockets cleaned up. All are working great now.
