Replacing L body hanger bracket bushings, necessary?

    Guys,
I have the spare trailing arm to replace my bent one on my Omni GLH.
Should I attempt to remove the hanger brackets to replace the bushings? Is it worth the trouble? I got one side loose but the bolt on the other side is getting rounded by my wrench. ----!

If I SHOULD replace the bushings, are they available from MOPAR? I don't have the hanger brackets off, so I don't know if the bushings have part numbers on them.
My 1981 and 1986 Mopar parts books have the bushing and hanger bracket listed as one assembly, with one part number.

I can't wait to repaint this trailing arm. That was part of the original plan, after I rebuilt the front end about 3 or 4 years ago. The repaint will make the car look real nice and clean underneath (a place where the real car resto "concourse" gurus look.)
    Mike

Careful removing the brackets from the body. The passenger side on mine came right out the driver's side forward bolt snapped off with very little effort. The threads are just an insert and replacing it would not be easy. I ended up drilling/tapping the broken bolt and insert to a standard 7/16" bolt. Good luck.

If it breaks, you can drill out the broken bolt and then cut a hole in the floor from the inside of the car and replace the nut.
I've done that a few times.
