Made a bit of progress tonight...made a few aluminum brackets and mounted up the old Spearco up front. I kept it low purposely to keep as much of it in airflow as possible. This cooler flows outstanding, but it does tend to heat soak on back to back high boost runs. I don't intend on pushing this past 20 psi, so I suspect it should be fine, especially how low I have it. It's also pushed to the right purposely since the front wheel weight is very much biased to the left. It's not much, but every bit helps! :-)
Next step...piping. I'm going to try to run them under the core support so I can run a full size radiator. I'll post pics as progress is made.
Do you think running a fan on the IC would be of any benefit? May help with heat soak if you're able to run the fan coming down the return road and in the staging lanes.
At the boost I am going to run, it should be fine. Its a great cooler but i am a bit spoiled by the triple RT core cooler I currently have in the ScAries and used to run in the other Shadow. I have yet to get that cooler to heat soak, even after 30+ psi runs in the heat.
Another T3 P-body ... yawn ..... just kidding
Looking forward to seeing the car all silver.

With as quick as you make progress, I need to bring my car down to you. Maybe if I park it too close to your cars, you'll accidentally make it fast.
Fair enough, just wondered, I love the 8 valves, None of our cars are really worth anything........

It's got a hole in the roof, that kills the collectors value anyways.
Speaking of mad welding skills...today's project!
I wanted to run the IC pipes under the core support so I can run a full size radiator and condensor since I want to put AC back in it. The Shadows have a lip of flat sheet metal that drops down about 1.75" where the two halves of the core support are spot welded together. Running the pipes under that lip dropped the pipes way lower than I wanted to go...they were too low and were very visible, which I do not want.
What I decided to do was to go through the lip. Using a 2.5" holesaw, I cut a half circle in the lip and ground to fit the outer diameter of a piece of 2.5" exhaust pipe. Once fitted, I cut the pipe down, welded lips to them, then welded them to the half circle cut outs I made in the core support lip. What this did was pick the pipes up more than 1.5" higher, which gave me the ground clearance and the stealth look I was looking for while still being able to run the full size rad and condensor. By welding them to the core support, it also reinforced whatever structure the lip may have added to the core support.
They won't be visible unless someone is looking for them (especially when painted) and if I did want to restore the car back to 100% stock, I could cut them out and replace the sheet metal lip in no time. The roof on the other hand may take a little bit longer to do...
Pics attached.
Very nice! I may have borrow that idea!
That looks great, and I'm a bit jealous that you have metal there!
