Stupid Question, Quick answer I think

    Hey Guys,

So on cold start everything is peachy, but as the car warms up, the belt squeaks for a few seconds on start up. Since i'm guessing the belt is looser when its warmer, i'm thinking that's why its squeaking? I was thinking to make it good I just need to tighten it some? Thoughts?

THis is the alternator belt btw, i've had issues with this thing ever since i replaced the alternator years ago. I just dont drive the car very often.

Good to see you on the board again! It's been a while.

Yeah, you probably just need to tighten the belt a little. Mine tend to squeal a bit when cold and then stop when they're warmer but either way just give it a little more tension and you should be all set. I've found that a bit of lock-tite on the adjuster threads helps to keep it in place a little better over the long haul. Belts do wear and stretch though so it's not like it can ever be totally avoided.
