    2.5 vs 3.0 Wastegate Outlet

I'm running a TB0348 turbo, which is hard to find specs for. I'm assuming the turbine housing is not a 3" outlet. Is there any reason I would lose power going from a full 3" wastegate flange outlet to a 2.5" outlet that then goes to three inches within a couple of inches?

Basically my custom wastegate housing is kind of a CF in that I can't tighten bolts with the turbo on the car (not enough clearance between the exhaust pipe and the flange), so I am wanting to switch to a normal wastegate housing that then expands to 3" within a few inches of the outlet. I just didn't know if that would hurt performance at all.

Actually it would probably gain performance solely on the fact that the wastegate flap would actually seal. The boost controller was set and maintained 12psi, now it can hit 8psi :/

If you port those the outlet gets a lot better but the problem with them is the wastegate. The flapper on those can only open a very small amount and don't flow well. Also if you think about it, the outlet of the turbo is the same size as the outlet of the swingvalve but the swingvalve has to flow both the turbine outlet and the wastegate. Also as gasses are coming out they are expanding still so I don't think flow is ideal.

The ATP ultimate is a good one. Lots of room for the flapper to open, and the housing opens up to 3".

Yep, but mine has a regular turbine housing that was machined to fit.

I think 20 bucks is worth the proven name. Theres a reason ATP replaced their welded stainless units with cast, they'll hold up a lot better.

Their website pictures show a housing/outlet that is clearly not cast

Does it have the standard Ford style bolt pattern? If so LMK, I think I have a great solution for you. You can see where it was opened up much like that ATP piece, but a much more gradual reduction in size. Cutout included, flexpipe isn't.
