2.2L SOHC Direct Connection big valve head and other top end parts

    Date: 10th March 2013
    Username: Ob1quixote
    Full Name:Robert Wilcox
    City, State, Zip:Charleston SC 29407

Price: included at end of description

Description: Be very descriptive and accurate of the items to be sold.

Yeah, I know, noob selling parts... A quick explanation. These parts are from my father's Rampage. after his death, I removed them from a motor in his garage after noticing the DC stamped on the head. Worked as a parts guy at a Mopar performance shop way back, so I knew they werent your average K car parts! I am selling these as part of the estate.

Sorry about the no name on paper in the pix, these shots were taken a few years ago, and up until now never heard of such a policy. Hopefully this will be good enough, considering I would require that the buyer come see them personally, but if not, send a trusted representative living in my area to inspect and report back to the potential buyer. In fact, I dont mind if a local buyer or rep posted their opinion after seeing the parts!

    What do I have?
A Direct Connection big valve head. Looks good to me, I'd say clean it up and run it!

Cam shaft appears to be DC as well, but I have no way to tell for sure. Wouldnt make sense to install a big valve head with a stock cam, would it?

A DC big port intake, mated to a performance carb.

    An NOS stock intake.

    A DC chrome valve cover, very nice condition {never installed, shelf wear}

A DC chrome air cleaner cover. very nice condition {never installed, shelf wear

A DC chrome hardware kit and valve cover reinforcement.

A DC cast aluminum cover. Weathered paint, needs a thorough cleaning and new paint, or polishing to suit.

These are the pix I have presently, can take more if need be, and they will comply with the "name in pix" policy.

Priced separately, but prefer to sell as a package, and prefer to sell locally and avoid the packaging and shipping nightmare.

    Head with cam $600
    Intake with carb $400
Chrome valve and air cleaner cover, and hardware kit {may be missing a bolt} $150
    Cast aluminum valve cover $250
    NOS stock intake $75

Prices are local pick-up. I dont really want to ship them, but if so, actual shipping cost plus packaging. I dont expect much packaging cost for the light parts, if any at all, but that head would need some extra attention!

Please come look at the parts, or send a trusted representative to look.
If you think my prices are out of order, make an offer!

If these items arent useful for turbo applications, can someone point me to where they might be needed?
Seems like a ****** shame for them to be made into beer cans.

Welcome to the forum. Sorry about your father.

Looks like he had some nice parts. Any more info or pics of the head? Can you get some larger pics of any other numbers or symbbols on it? And a pic of the port side?

Re: 2.2L SOHC Direct Connection big valve head and other top end parts

That looks like a 655 head, 1981-1982 only, and a DC part to boot!! The 655's had the largest intake ports of any 2.2/2.5 head and were N/A only. The G head replaced it, similar but with smaller intake ports. Most MP heads were based on the G head. From 1986 on the swirl head was used on all SOHC engines. There are a few of us who like the 655 head but we are in the minority for sure.

    Sorry you lost your Dad.

    Thanks
    Randy

Thanks y'all! I'm am the furthest thing from knowledgeable on these things, and would have no way to know or find the info Randy posted.
Here are another pic of marks on the head [old, no name-card]

I will take some more pix tomorrow of the port areas. If there are any other views y'all want to see, let me know!

If there is a forum member in the Charleston SC area, I would be happy to show them the parts, and they can post their opinion. If they have to come a distance, I'm willing to throw some gas money their way, maybe a cold one and some chow as well!
I know I'd be wary of a forum noob selling parts in my area of interest {offroad and British motorcycles}, and I'm more than willing to include a local to act as an escrow holder, verify the parts going into the box and across the counter at FedEx.

Ok, gonna take more head pix and cast valve cover pix tomorrow morning, per requests. I guess I need to start a new thread for the shift linkage parts?

    I see someone asked about the DC valve cover;
If it doesn't work out, please put me #2 in line for it.

    PM sent.
