There are a lot of IRS suspensions out there to look at for the rear. 300ZX, T-bird Supercoupe/Lincoln Mark VIII, RX7, 240SX, Corvette (BLECH!!), Viper, Supra/IS300. Those are probably the easiest to find. There are probably more that I've forgotten. Unfortunately MOPAR didn't do that many IRS cars. You could maybe look at the 300C, but keep in mind that it is Mercedes based. The ones I listed out are widely known and have aftermarket support.

    all too wide . gto 61.9. cobra 59.9. cougar/t-bird 58.5. viper 75.7. supra 60.1. 300c 63.4. 300zx 61.2. 240sx 57.5.
the lancer is 55.5. the conquest/starion is 55.1 i already check this out months ago.

you cut down any of those half shafts to get your width, now suspension geometry on the joints are whack.

the other solution widen the body. look at those body lines. can i do it? yes i can. do i want to do it? i don't know...

Those are track widths if I'm not mistaken. What is the actual width from flange to flange? Also, if you are going to lower the car, you are going to have to limit suspension travel, so if a little trimming is required....meh, so what? CV's are meant to be able to be efficient at different angles. Yes, the best way to transfer power is when they are straight, but still.

OK, what about a Miata? Those are pretty narrow and there is a lot of support for them, even making big power.

you know that miata i.r.s is only a half inch wider. that might be the ticket item. if it can handle decent horsepower.

There are many shops doing V8 conversions to those cars. I'm assuming (bad thing to do) that they either modify the stock diff, or they use something else to accomplish being able to handle the power. If I remember correctly, they DO keep the IRS intact. Look up Monster Miata. There was also a company in Jacksonville, Fl that was doing LS swaps to them. I happened to go to a dyno day where they had the first one they did on the dyno. My Shelby Z put more torque to the ground than the LS swapped Miata did! LOL Needless to say I got some respect that day!

yeah checked it out. what they do is use the t-bird/ cougar i.r.s with cut down axles

---------- Post added at 07:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:12 PM ----------

and then they broach the hubs to sync with the splines of the axles

Not the front. I'm not building. A 4×4. And the car already has an 8.75 in the back
