Found a local guy selling a used MSII with the v3.0 main board. It was originally built for a sohc turbo neon. The owner says it includes all sensors and harness to set it up and run. I want to put it on a 2.4l turbo engine that im building for my omni. The guy is asking $250. What should I look for or ask about to make sure im getting the right setup for my needs. Im new to megasquirt so any help is appreciated!
You need to make sure everything is clearly labelled. I'd also look to make sure the harness will work in your chassis since it was probably shortened/modified to fit that particular setup.
Check board for cold solder joints.

If the stuff is local take a jimstim and verify that everything works. If he's not local and you buy it still get the jimstim and verify it all works. The jimstim has fixed many a headache for me.
open it up and SMELL IT. if the MS smells "burnt" he probably fried it, pass and just buy a new kit if thats the case.
if it smells and looks ok hook it up to a jim-stim with a laptop running tunerstudio. you will be able to verify that everything with the MS is working correctly from inputs to outputs.
^^^^ Good point on the smell test. That's another one of those things I do sort of automatically with electronics and never think to mention.

Well, I picked it up yesterday. I gave it the old smell test and it didn't smell as if the magic smoke had been released. I opened it up and inspected the board and everything seems to be ok. I got a 6 foot harness and a intake and coolant temp sensor with the deal. So hopefully this was a good investment. I did not get a chance to connect it to a jimstim so hopefully all is well.
Well after further research and some help, I guess this is a MS1 with the 3.0 mainboard. Looks like I will be upgrading it to MS3.
You can buy the MS2 daughtercard if you want to. I think its about $80 for the card.
if you're going to upgrade to MSIII you will need a different case and endplates. MSII will drop right in that case but its considerably difficult do do full sequential injection, will have to build a cam signal input circuit, where the MSIII with the MS3X card has all that built in plus drivers to control the wastegate solenoid, launch control etc etc.
