93 Sundance 5speed trans into 2.5 turbo mini?

ok, dont know if this has been asked before but here goes..
i picked up a 93 sundance(P-body iirc) with a 2.2na 5speed. Body is in rough shape but the driveline seems to be in good shape(122k miles)
anyway, im looking to pick up an 89 turbo caravan auto and im looking to swap that witha quickness.
so im wondering if i cant find a good 5speed trans, can i use the sundance trans and axels? Ive got most of the 5speed caravan specific parts(shifter/pedals/cables) but no transmission or clutch assembl

Also, how do I identify my trans? and what trans came in what?

The transmission I was running in my van was out of a 94 sundance. 3.77 FD A523, there should be a tag on the top of the trans held on by a screw. It might be covered in 20 years of gunk. Only problem I ran into was that I had to modify my existing motor mount, and swap the clutch arm over from the A520 that was in the van already. But I was dealing with a factory 5 speed van already.

You use the minivan's axles for minivan.

so basicly get the trans bolted properly and everything will fall into place?
i wonder if autotragic mounts are different from 5speed ones?

The mount on the trans is different, yes. I used the same trans (3.77 A523) in my '89 turbo van. I had to use a combination of shifter cables, though. I think I used a P-Body main cable with a Daytona crossover. Or maybe the other way around. One of the P-Body cables is too short for the van...

good news is that i bought a set of 2nd gen minivan shifter cables with my shifter pedal set, so hopefuly ill be good... when you say modifying the mounts, do you mean like bolt here bolt there or crazy grinding/drilling/welding?
in not looking for crazy power, how strong are the a523?

Usually you take the sleeve from the auto trans mount in the 5 speed mount.

I am doing the same swap, same year shadow transmission in the same year van at the same time.

I have shadow cables so that's nice to know one is too short, I'll have to source a cable then. Rob, is there a way you can find out which one. I figured since the van cables were only one inch shorter that the shadow cables would work.

You could dig thru my old project log for the van. I'm sure I put in there which one I swapped.
