    I hate when that happens.

    Re: Sorry Adam!

Hmmm maybe I saw the "banjo style" variation of the classic boxy teardrop type shape. Interesting though, didn't realise that that's just reservoir and the pump is a round chunk in the bottom that can be removed from the res. There's some reservoir free versions for some 60s GMs (Chevelle) and those have a nipple/pipe on top for attaching remote reservoir....

... so I'm getting the idea that you could "skin" the pump, mate a fitting into the intake hole in the top, and use a remote mount reservoir.

If mixing and matching if you see a saginaw that "looks like a better fit" be aware that the valving and fittings may be different, and may have been intended to run with a bigger or smaller pulley on. (It'll probably work but give you different feel, though may fountain over if pulley too small at high rpm)

Is it just me, or does that look like it doesn't leave much room for the plenum to be centered on the runners? Or was that the plan all along, to offset the plenum so that the backside runs almost straight into the runners? (if you get what I mean)

The plenum will be centered and sufficient volume. The power steering pump cap can be removed as is.
