HotRod 0313 Rescuing A Coronet R/T -experimental turbo intake for an early-'90s MOPAR

So whe reading through HOT ROD issue 0313 I came across the Automotive Archeology article "Rescuing A Coronet R/T".
In the article it talked about a "experimental turbo intake for an early-'90s MOPAR".
I e-mailed Ryan Brutt about this and he sent me some pics. I thought the community would enjoy.
he said "that the turbo intake is an experimental one for the old 3.0 V6. There are at least 2 other known examples running around. This one you can see has never been used."

Also he sent me a link to some "FWD Mopars out in the middle of nowhere" the FWD pics are near the end.

YAh I'm looking that and thinking the valve covers need modding, like a right angle filler neck sticking out the side for a start.

    Nice SC with a cage.

I bet there are still 1000's of decent, old cars that are hiding.

Chrysler built 3 (IIRC) prototype 3.0 SOHC Turbo engines in the late 80's/early 90's. Somebody has one in a Shadow I believe.

that's funny actually it looks smaller when it's on the motor, looked bigger on the ground, runners aren't really allllll that long.

Thought there was an in car pic on DDG some years back, but that seems to have turned up lost.

Re: HotRod 0313 Rescuing A Coronet R/T -experimental turbo intake for an early-'90s M

Robert Hassler owns or owned the Shadow with the prototype 3.0 engine swap. I don't know what ever happened to him or his car? I think I remember somebody else put one in a LeBaron? I know for fact that one ended up in a Daytona in Kentucky when these engines first became available.

There were actually 6 of them. 4 had been located from what I remember, but I think they've all been lost track of once again. There were reports of one possibly in the New Jersey or Virginia area (this was a LONG time ago, so forgive me).

I believe there was a pretty good write-up on them on Allpar.

I think Rob ended up getting the car in the low 13's? It used a funky turbo scroll that wasn't interchageable with much else IIRC...or that could have been the exhaust manifolds. Actually, not that I'm thinking about it, Rob ended up with 2 of the engines. He blew one up and was taking it apart. I have pictures stored on my harddrive in the computer that's in storage across the country! LOL
