per gear boost control with eboost2

I've got an eboost2 for my horizon project. It can do 4 different boost settings based on 2 wires. I want to use the first 4 gears for the different boost levels and have it revert to one of the 4 for 5th gear. 1st stage is no ground on either wire. 2nd stage you ground one of the wires. 3rd stage you ground the other. 4th stage you ground both. Has anyone done something like this? Trying to come up with the best place to mount the switches and what switches to use. I think I can do this with a couple relays but haven't tried to draw anything out yet so any of you guys who like that sort of thing feel free to chime in. Any info or experience would be greatly appreciated.

I can see doing it with 3 microswitches.

1 switch on the gate to second. one switch that's activated when you move the shifter away from 1-2, and one that's activated by 4 and 5 (Think kitty corner triangle cam kinda deally). switch one and 3 on the same wire... you could add extra mechanism, to use #1 twice, but probably easier to duplicate it.

Would be awesome to figure a way to use the SDS, and once it emits a certain frequency of pulses, have it shoot ground to one of the wires. There has to be a way to do so.
