I would say it's a reasonable price. Wiring harnesses are NOT cheap. They can run well over 1k for newer cars.

Considering they went NS1 9 years ago, I think it is a decent price to ask.

I'd like to add, the expense would be worth it, to get a fresh OE type harness that's plug N play for a SMEC-powered Lbody. The hours it would take you to replicate this harness are substantial.

This is a cool piece of history. The price is fair considering it is new. I would be interested but I already have a full 89 interior horizon harness with a full 89 turbo van engine harness. Free bump

Substantial indeed. I've got well over $150 into just terminals and connectors for my harness repair. That doesn't include loom and other consumables.

Re: NOS NIB S-60 L-body harness and S-60 SMEC

I thought myself and another fellow SDAC Chicago member had the last NOS ones left.
I love that mine just came in a bag.

    Good luck with the sale.
Well worth the money if you don't wan't to redo most of the harness for a SMEC in a L body and you know this is all soft and connectors are in the right place (well except for the knock sensor)

Yup, that knock sensor wire has been debated a lot over the years about whether that was intentional or not. Most people also want the add three or four wire O2 circuit too.
Thanks to all for the good comments. Yes, I know it's crazy expensive. but it always has been. Tough pill to swallow for wiring. I wish I knew how many they actually sold. I'm betting less than 100 due to expense.

I've had my hands on two, so I'm guessing there was a few more than a hundred.

From what I was told the knock sensor was not being looked at by the computer which is why the pin is in the wrong part of the connector and the O2 sensor was not used at all.

    Good luck with the sale.
I hope my taxes come back soon I wouldn't mind a second one as they almost never come for sale

Re: NOS NIB S-60 L-body harness and S-60 SMEC

I paid about $450 for one in '99, took forever for it to come in, and the dealer was unable to find the computer or turbo to go with it.

Then I foolishly traded it plus cash for a very mildly ported cylinder head.

They started out around $450/200 and ended up at $699/297 by 02 when it went NS1. Then of course if you wanted the alt harness, the starter harness, the injector harness, the small sub harness to map sensor, the solenoids, relays, E-coil & bracket, etc. That was all extra (lol).

Then there is the S-60 turbo, BV g-head +40 injectors, S-60 fuel pump, 3bar map, s-60 intercooler, 2 piece intake and fuel rail, L-body upper and lower intercooler hoses, TII airbox, 52mm TB, and S-60 camshaft and followers to round out the S-60 package. Assuming you already have a real TII bottom end and a555 tranny, shifter and cables, and larger exhaust already. It got pretty expensive to buy it all new from Mopar to say the least!

Not too bad all things considered. To make that harness at work would probably cost between $2500-3000 retail to the customer.
