It might stall, the tranny needs to keep turning when you get off teh throttle in an auto, so they don't cut fuel, or restore it when revs drop below say 1500ish, but the manual programming doesn't. Also, rev limiter is a bit higher, which may cause early killage by loss of life to an unmodded auto. However, some guys do it anyway.

Also if you've got a lockup torque converter, you'll lose lockup, for later cars only, wasn't on LM cars.

Might be idle speed issues also, due to resistance of torque convertor, auto pooter will try to run a tad faster, might bog, especially if cold with manual pooter.

However, this is just the programming, you could socket the chip on the manual and put the chip in out of the auto, or a custom cal.

Same year as your wiring harness is the best bet... but there's a few oddities, so what is the car and what wiring harness?

Re: does an automatic require a different computer than a manual????

Well here is my combo, the wiring harness came out of a 86 Shelby Charger and i'm putting it in a 87 Omni that was non turbo. I had to drill the hole threw the firewall for the wires to the logic module. I already did the mods to the harness to go from the old style log manifold to the newer style. I think it was a 87 TII CSX mod kit. Also I was wondering with the power module, do you know what part number I need. I have 4 laying around but don't know what they came out of. I heard that they have more pins than the connector has wires. I think there are 2 if not 3 slots that don't have anything going to them. Do I need to modify anything in this area?

and also I have my map sensor inside the car with the computer not out in the engine bay

You should get a stage II computer, some 86 and 87's can be chipped to the later LM and then run the cal you want. Contact Shelgame on here.

Fuel injected PM's are the same, I'll count the number of pins on one of mine later or get a number off it.

Thanks! Turbovanman!! I was just wondering because I looked up on the NAPA site with the NAPA # and there was a couple of thing that popped up like the unused pins. So yeah that would be great to see what you come up with under your hood

Ok looking at a spare power module here, 2 plug's. First has 2 rows of 5 and second has 2 rows of 6 pins.
