'89 Caravan SE Turbo, auto. Picked it up locally for $300 about 6 years ago and have been slowly changing it ever since. It has a rebuilt 2.5 with forged Wiseco pistons, +40's, 3 bar MAP, custom calibration from Shelgame, Powerstroke intercooler, 3 inch side exit exhaust with flamethrower, Shadow front struts with 1" lowering springs, removed leaf in the rear, added tinted rear glass, and it had an HY35 for a while but I went back to a Mitsu recently when the exhaust side of the Holset cracked.

I'm losing it to rust around the inner fenders and rockers so sadly it might be time for it to go.

Here are the photos I could dig up from when I brought it home until a couple months ago.

Awesome work, I would love to get a flame kit for my van! Did you buy it or build it yourself?

The youths are purposely rusting their rides these days. I think its like bonus cool points or something.

Speaking of elusive LX's.. heres mine. So the chrome/plastic trim on the sides specific to the LX? I hated it at first but I'm getting used to it. It boggles why they wouldn't just use the caravan trim pieces.

    Re: Show Off Your Mini!!

I'm not normally a fan of extra body cladding etc., but the Voyager LX was a very rare cool option. Chrome, cladding, taillights and striped tinted windows were part of the package. So were 15" lace wheels, I think they were a last minute addition as all the ones I've seen had 14" tire decals. As requested, put up some detailed pictures of your upper class Turbo mini van!! Plymouth was a classier minivan in some cases, there was lots of internal competition between dodge and Plymouth.

    Thanks
    Randy

1989 Voyager LX is much nicer than a 1989 Caravan ES.

    Thanks

I built it. It's another ignition coil mounted under the van with a single plug wire running to a spark plug near the end of the exhaust. It's wired with a switch into the main coil trigger wire so they fire simultaneously. So you rev it high, let off the gas and flip the switch and it lights up pretty easy.

Keeping I mind I have straight through exhaust and my tune runs a bit rich on decel.

Remember the pepboyz chrome fender accents from the 90's. I think that is what bugs me about the LX cladding- the chrome goes over the wheel wells and reminds me of those stupid things.

I have the original 15" mesh wheels, they are grey.

I couldn't agree more, the chrome looks terrible. I think you should carefully rip it all off and send it to me, my black LX has a few scuffs on the chrome!!

    Thanks

    Re: Show Off Your Mini!!

Since it was never answered: the 5-speed that is used on the 3.0 V6 is the A543. The case is unique to that transmission due to the different bellhousing, but everything else is pretty much the same as the other 3-plane transmissions. The only FD option was 3.77. That actually *could* be found in a very few A523's (I used to have one). The pitch of the teeth on the gearset of the '90 tranny's is much more course than the A523....closer to the A568. In the later ones it is very easy to mistake the gearsets between the A543 and A568 side by side if you didn't know what to look for.

Bet I could swap the toobs and a few things with the other vans to push it through CA smog.. I can't believe nobody bought it yet with the upgrades its got. I'd have to spend more than the asking price to get that list done to one of mine.
