    Re: Show Off Your Mini!!

Someone asked about the Jeep wheel offset being right or wrong for the Mini's. I took a couple shots today, the wheels/tires do stick out a bit more but I think it's just a result of the extra inch of rim width

Those are nearly flush with the wheel arches. In other words, PERFECT fit.

Remember with a wheel width change only half the growth is to the outside, so it is probably a combination of both width and offset changes making it look right.

I actually put FWD Chrysler Concorde 16s on a Cherokee i owned at one point. It worked fairly well going from FWD to RWD too!

Pretty sure the offset is stamped on the inside. I didn't measure to verify but 31.8 is on the inside of Alan's rims. Seems like just about be the correct offset. I ran out of time to go back and look up how to measure and calculate it then perform that before Alan came and got it.

perfect offset, what size tire? Unfortunately wide tire choices in 15"s are dwindling.

^215-65-15's Sumitomo's which have good ride, decent grip and resonable wear.

I found this van while at the J yard a couple weeks ago when I was looking for pieces for Whiteout, I should prolly put it in the 'show off your J Yard' pics buuut... It's that Medium Suede like Berubi's van, a Woody, and a Grand Caravan. *If* it only had the turbo 2.5, it would be a grand slam

If stock was 15x6+ 40, than a 15x7 +31 moves the outside edge out 22mm, almost an inch.

    Re: Show Off Your Mini!!

I finally got my new side marker and turn signal lenses for my CV sealed beam headlight bezels. I'm still waiting for a new emblem for my grill that's going to replace the stock "Dodge" emblem. I'm still not sure how I feel about the color scheme of the headlight bezels and grill. I'm open to anyone's honest opinions and suggestions. I promise I won't get butt hurt.

Are they different from the normal lenses? I assumed they were the same..

As for the white bezels and black grille, i hate it. I think part of the reason is there is not really a demarcation point between the two that lends itself to a color change. It just ends up looking like you pulled junkyard pards from different color cars and installed them together. My .02. I do like the sealed beam front end conversion, just not the color scheme so far.

Another problem is that "new" white and "new" black are such strong colors they sort of visually age everything else around them. It's hard to paint something bright white or dark black without making everything around it look like crap.

In any other circle, I think people would question your sanity for that statement.

The side market lenses are different. The turn signal lenses are the same.

Your criticisms/critiques are the same as mine. I bought off-white/darker-than-bright-white paint trying to match the 25 year old faded/worn paint. I really need to paint the van but I'm chasing 12's right now and that's more important. The problem is getting people to give me their honest opinion. I'd rather someone be honest than let me drive around looking like an idiot.
