Great thing about 215 tires on them, is that driving round the city if anyone jumps out of a line of traffic, or comes out of a lot right in front of you, when you nail the brakes you stop in about 2 lengths.... I guess one could upgrade the brakes because it's very hard to lock them up on a good surface, but they feel like you're threshold/limit braking with them fully applied so it's not gonna get you stopped any shorter.

I agree the 215 is a good size for these and look better than stock 205's or 195's. I run the 215-65-15's on my 84 and I ran 225-60-16's on the 89 with american racing wheels. I liked the 225's but I am not sure of they will clear with stock wheel offset. Now the 235-45-18's I have on the 89 are extremely wide compared to stock 205' but the handling was improved a lot. I need to lower my 89 at some point. I couldnt do it because when I lived at my parents I would never get it in the driveway, now at my new house it is not a problem.

    Re: Show Off Your Mini!!

Cool thread. Let me see if I can dig up any pics of my van.

    Edit:
Here's one I found. This is when Clay Cooke was delivering it back to me after he put on a fresh coat of flat black tractor paint.

    Edit x2:
Found some more that Clay took.

    Totally forgot about this,

Well most of you know my van, 89 Turbo, 2.5 TIII swap with an auto, fully loaded, it all works. Has rusty 1/4's and faded paint but that's getting fixed in a few months.

Lowered with Daytona Koni's in the front, cut HD van springs, 2nd gen K member and R/T knuckles and brakes, Daytona 1 1/4 sway, poly everything, rear 11" discs, dearched leaf springs, adjustable shocks, 2nd gen sway bar, GTC wheels with 225/55R16 tires.

Even has a trailer hitch which I use, lol.

Hey, don't suppose you can get any progress/howto of the work on the quarters can you? Or is the BIL just gonna blam through it when you're otherwise occupied?

I can see if I can take some pics but he said basically going to cut out the rust and put new metal in, straigten the rear as its twisted from the hit. I'll Por15 the inside of the panels so they don't rust again.

Thanks, but its since gone, got busted at the the track and had to make a proper one,

Odd, did it chafe or rot or what? Youdathunk since they secure loads on semis with that kind of strapping, that it would actually be fairly durable.

Its actually in the rules for the race track, took them a few years but one guy noticed it under my air box and told me to get it fixed, lol.

    Re: Show Off Your Mini!!

Woody is now intercooled Runs strong at 13PSI Bottom charge pipe from turbo after a couple loooong 13PSI pulls, 192 degrees F Yikes! Top tube coming from IC to TB 72 degrees F(IR thermo said 57 degrees out so about 15 above ambient) It's two stock Talon/Laser RS/Mitsu GSX cores with endtanks removed and welded together. I run the same style but triple cores in my 2 door GLHS and the Rampage RT and have been really happy with the cooling and flow on those. Space is at a premium underhood on a Mini with AC and needing a little less capacity I think the double core will be plenty even for future mods IT was seriously tight getting the double core to fit, had to move AC condensor over almost 4"(notched the core support and passenger headlight bucket) and had to relocate the trans cooler.

Dang, looking at those de-arched springs, it almost looks like you could have just flipped them upside down.. lol

Interesting about reversing the brackets, havent heard that one on TM before.
