In a bonehead move on my behalf I pulled what seemed to be a good engine from the rusted SL body, replaced the bad head (worn journals), and put the engine in the good body. To my defense, this was the quietest smoothest running 2.2 I had ever heard. Now after roughly 100 miles the engine has developed a very loud knock. This knock is present no matter what the engine temp is and never changes volume or pitch. I pulled #3 spark wire and sure enough the knock all but goes away completley. Refresh my memory if this is a sign of a bad wrist pin or rod bearing. It doesn't has that heavy thud sound that I am familiar with being a rod bearing. This is very loud and sharp.
