That is nice, are those stainless screws?

    Yes they are.

    Some background on this setup:
We figured out how many pulses the stock Speed/Distance sensor sends per mile (the target is 8000 pulses per mile from our calculations), then figured out how many pulses we would need per wheel rotation to get close. 9 pulses per rev on a 205/50-15 gets within 5% or so of the target 8000 pulses per mile.

At first we tried a GPS-based speed sensor, but although it was accurate, the response was WAY too slow to use as a good source of vehicle speed for boost control, so then we started looking into a proximity sensor-based solution.

We went round and round on different designs, and finally landed on this one because it was the simplest to make, and gave the flexibility that we needed to get it working on two very different T-Ms. One car (stock brake setup in the pictures) has the sensor looking head-on at the screw heads, and the other (custom brake setup) has it looking at the side of the heads using socket-head screws instead of the flat head screws.

So far it has been rock-solid stable on my car, the other car just got back on the road this weekend, and still needs to have the sensor wired in.

We're planning on using this setup to enable us to use the speed vs boost table in the Turbonator Logic Module code (which needs one small change to support it on a manual car) to set the boost target based on actual MPH, not how fast the SDS is indicating, since the SDS will be inaccurate in the case of wheelspin.

Eventually this setup could be used to compare to the SDS and determine if traction is lost, but we think that the boost-by-speed will meet our needs for now.

^Nice, I wouldn't think the sensor would pick up a stainless bolt, good to know.

A magnetic sensor wouldn't. but the sensors we used are inductive proximity sensors that sense anything metallic within their range.
