Brand new GT3071 turbo with .63 turbine housing was bought from Chris @ TurbosUnleashed a few years ago for my project 86 GLHS. Had to sell car due to divorce and now have no need for some of the parts I had for the car. Paid over $1400 when I bought it not including all the fittings and the $100 wastegate plus turbine housing is coated which was an other extra cost of $175. selling for $1200 saving you over $400 if bought new.

Have inline turbo oil filter 60 micron for sale also. Was bought from Chris @Turbos Unleashed. Sell for $50

SOLD!Used GT3071 turbo with .63 turbine housing was on an omni for about 5K miles and was removed because car was not set-up for that amount of power and was replaced with a smaller turbo. Turbo was bought from Chris @Turbos Unleashed. Was working great when removed from car a few years ago.

Can you give me the rundown on it?
What kind of build was this sized for?
What was the reason for grinding the exhaust housing like that?

I'm interested in it for my Spirit, if I ever finish the current rebuilds...

housing is ground so the bolts on the compressor clear if you have to rotate it.

IMO you'd want a good intake manifold and a heavily ported head to make this turbo work well.

This is probably similar to the turbo I'm expecting for Mini.
Was this the one called "trannybuster" from TU?

GLHNSLHT2 is correct, it was ground so the compressor housing can be rotated but also it seemed to line up better right in that spot. I think it is the tranny buster because those are GT30 series dual ball bearing turbos also, The only other ones I see on his site are the bigger GT35's. I did get this turbo from TU.
