    Bumper Support Removal

    Hello!

I'm in the process of stripping my GLH-T of, well practically everything, as I begin it's restoration. I've removed the bumper itself, but after removing the obvious bolts that secure the bumper supports, the supports are still solidly attached. I have a Haynes repair manual, but in some ways it's sorely lacking and this is one of them.

So, where exactly are the mystery fasteners that hold the supports in place?

    Thanks!

If you are removing the brackets from the car, there are bolts under the fender. Each bracket extends into the frame rail and has one bolt each under the fender. The brackets are actually impact absorbers.
The passenger side bolt is hidden behind the charcoal canister, you have to remove the canister to get at the bolt.

    Hello ajakeski!

Thanks for the help. I fear I may have to tackle this in the spring though. The car is outside and it's officially winter here in Milwaukee. Although, there might be a few warmer days left this week.

I see you're in SE Wisconsin; where specifically?
