    Change your fuel filter

At least once in a while. This have less than 3000 miles, who knew what the PO filled the tank with...

Pour it out of the filter from the non-filtered side. Gas from filtered side looked clean.

24 hours later, that's a 1/2 inch socket next to it.

Purple is the filter the car came with, right is the one I installed. I'm glad I installed a giant fuel filter.

What size is that fitting? that's a good idea using those filters, they last along time.

6 AN, bought mine from there.

My car was converted to 3/8 lines, while still have the 5/16 metal tube at the fuel hanger. Why bother?

I just need the fittings, I can get those filters locally for less,

Guess I'll order one and figure out the threads.

Supermarket ads like Meijer Ad can help you with saving on fuel.

    That's funny, a semi conversion,

I changed my filter today that had a good 10K -15 K miles on it, the fuel in it came out pretty clean. Nothing like the above photo at all of the brown mud fuel!

Not everyone is going to have sediment in there fuel filter like that. It all depends where you live and what conditions are around you. Considering that you live in a desert area I would expect that. I bet most of that sediment is sand.

Looks like the dust storms this summer got into his gas tank.

Good illustration; one of those things that get procrastinated.
    John Laing

"The sole condition which is required in order to succeed in centralizing the supreme power in a democratic community, is to love equality, or to get men to believe you love it. Thus the science of despotism, which was once so complex is simplified, and reduced . . . . to a single principle."
    -- Alexis de Tocqueville

"One of the methods used by statists to destroy capitalism consists in establishing controls that tie a given industry hand and foot, making it unable to solve its problems, then declaring that freedom has failed and stronger controls are necessary."
    --Ayn Rand

"To evolve, you don't need a Constitution. All you need is a legislature and a ballot box . . . . things will evolve as much as you want. All of these changes can come about democratically; you don't need a Constitution to do that and it's not the function of a Constitution to do that."

    Re: Change your fuel filter

Here is one I just ran into. Replaced tank, sending unit, fuel pump, filter, etc. Clean fuel on left, what came out of filter on right.

Looks like the Bosch unit has Pipe Thread ports... If that's so, one could adapt it to fit almost any line, if they use O-rings, they are probably standard hydraulic fittings, of which 5/16" would be one size, so it should retrofit pretty easily... assuming you have room! That's a big boy!

Reminds me of what was in my glh's tank when I first got it. I ended dropping the tank and flushing it out to fix some drivability problems.
