Funny you mentioned "the war department" in your first post. My best friends dad refers to the wife as that.....lol.

A man has got to know his limitations.....
You're better off saving the Dana 60 for another A-body project (ie: V-8) There's a lot of frictional losses happening in a Dana 60 compared to an 8-3/4. The torque off the line won't hit so hard with a turbo/auto 4-cylinder.... so you'd probably be able to get away with even an 8-1/4 (but I wouldn't try that)

Id rather have the dana. The weight is right where i need it anyway. I want to build it once and never again. The money it would take to make the 8 3/4 as strong as a stock dana isnt worth it in my opinion also. PLus, i have a Dana. And this thing off the trans brake should have as much/more torque as a v8. Tony's car picks the front wheels up! (not that this will) =)
the dana it is
lol. With this build i want it to be a one and done deal. (not that that is ever the case) Ive blown up a few 8 3/4s at the track already with a "mild" 440. The dana has lived behind the same mild 440 for years without issue. Maybe im being paranoid but i just dont want issues. PLUS, being that this is a turbo dodge now, i can cut corners else where!
anything new
no, not really. I traded some parts for some shortened 35spline dana axles that were through hardened. Other than that nothing. Ive been playing catch up with everything else. We do however have the 64 almost ready for the track come april!

Ive also been helping a friend with his CSRT4. currently he is 2nd fastest MS1K car, so we did a few things to assure he gets that #1 spot this summer.
N2MB
2 stage boost controller
pulled the intake, redid some hoses underneth and installed a catch can
And also did some clean up up front while installing some aftermarket head lamps

The car is now home in the shop! will be cutting wheel arches out and making room for some 275s!
Picked up a mustang II manual steering rack off craigslist for 50 tonight! Brand new in the bag with bushings! Also just ordered all of the parts to build the tubular control arms! Bought 12ft of thick wall 1.5in tubing today as well! Saturday I picked up another 2.4 that has likely washed the bearings out due to the head being lifted during high boost. Im not concerned with it too much because the head has big valves, port work, and has been decked. Also came with accel injectors, 03 fuel rail with return fitting, cast turbo exhaust manifold and nice braided oil line! Anyone know where to pick up some cheaper than QA1 coilovers that would suit my needs?
Check out Speedway's AFCO offerings. Ask around on SCR if anyone works there and is willing to use any employee discount. I know one person that still works at Speedway but not good enough to ask for an employee discount.

Making your own tubular arms? Much respect.
