i picked up my 2.4 aluminum valve cover a few days ago. All the control arms are sand blasted, ive yet to push the bushings out. Still looking for a cheap stove/oven. Everyone wants 100+ for something! I just dont want to pay 100 for something im going to ruin with powdercoating!

Sounds like it's time to go into appliance repair for a while. You need to find something that doesnt work because a terminal came loose and burned a wire end and nothing else is wrong with it.

Dont push the red button. You hear me?

    amaizing project!!!

hmmm, guessing its not a caravan those turn to the other way & plastic -- stratus (intake and exhaust reversed) ?

As stated its an '01 caravan, the 2.4 4th gen vans had the TB on the passenger side of the engine.

My Brothers 73 Swinger weighs 3050 with him in it. with 440 (alum heads) and 12 point cage has glass fenders and hood and bumpers

(i dont think weight savings will be much with the fenders). The car doesnt have any power options and it will remain that way. Im hoping race weight will be under 3000 with driver when its all said and done. For the stock 2.4 i am hoping to make 350-400whp and run 11s.

that gives me hope! From what i understand the darts got heavier as the years went on so im hoping i have a slight advantage there. Plus, ya know, half an engine!

    Re: 1967 Dart 2.4

When I had my 74 dart I wanted to do this so badly. I have a buddy currently doing a similar project with a datsun 510. There's a guy on neons.org that put a 2.4 into a 77 celica liftback, and another guy that put a 2.0 dohc into an MG. Haven't seen one with an automatic yet, I'm subscribing.

Another option for you, if you want, is to run a 420a head off an eclipse or avenger. It swaps the intake and exhaust ports.

If you plan on making huge power with the stock 2.4 you have to at least change the rod bolts to ARP's. Lots of neon guys break the bottom ends around 250WTQ.

These bushings you might want to just burn out the rubber and slice the shell with a sawsall.(carefully) Then the hard part will be done!

    Re: 1967 Dart 2.4

I picked up a 2nd srt engine the other day. It has a rod knock. Got it for "free" after i r+r'd the engine in an 05 srt4. IT came with a complete wiring harness, all the sensors, a coil pack, and a few other odds and ends! Other than that i have been working on my omni and 64 polara. Once the omni is put back together i will start working on this more! until then i will continue to collect parts.

Ive also decided on a 6266 t4 twin scroll for this build. A local guy gets great deals thats hard to not pass up!

the 6266 is an awesome turbo, lots of guys making high 500's and even into the 700's with it. dont overlook the borg warner airwerks turbo's before you buy. an 83-75 would be a nice choice too.

    so awesome!!!

    and this

I would use them and hold off on the cage until the track mandates it.
and not sure what kind of budget, but what do they offer for k-frames/a-arms for the dart?
