    tbi to turbo wiring harness

I'm looking in turboing a 92 Dodge shadow I just got I have a turbo engine computer transmission for it on the wiring side of it I was thinking if the wiring harness from the turbo shadow will work on the tbi shadow is it plug and play or you half to rip the whole harness out and wire the whole car or just do the front of the tbi car to turbo computer ect....

Same year harness is plug and play. Drop it all in, leave the fuel pump as its turbo spec and your golden.

If you can FIND a same-year turbo shadow harness it will drop in. I dont even know if they still offered turbo shadows in 92. If so, they are definitely rare.

If you are feeling bold you can add most of the wires to your harness. The connectors are all pretty much the same as some of the older harnesses so you could, for example, take the injector harness and all its wires back to the ECU, the 2nd distributor pickup connector and wiring, intake temp sensor wiring, and just add those lines to your harness from an older harness like an 89 daytona or van or something.. There really isnt a lot of difference between a tbi and turbo harness on the same car. Maybe 10-15 wires at most. The computers even use basically the same connector. I think you might have to grind a plastic tab off it to get it to plug into a turbo computer.

Anyway if you can find a drop in harness and want to do that, go for it.

Dont push the red button. You hear me?

thanks guys kinda sucked though the donor car got crushed maybe just cut and splice wires and do what you said. I do have extra computers and fuel pumps one thing about the turbo Mopar hobbyist always have parts laying around! Plus I got a book to get the wires correct to get the system functional.

I used a '91 turbo p-body harness in my '93 TBI Sundance, just had to swap a few wires around. It was really easy after comparing the FSM diagrams for the two years.

I've done it and my advice is...sell the car and buy a factory turbo car. They are not that rare to bother with a swap.

Used a 91' turbo shadow harness when I converted my 94' to turbo. Like mcsvt said just a few wires swapped around and you should be good to go. Good luck finding a 92' turbo shadow harness, even if they were made, virtually impossible to find.

Why?, It's as simple as swapping a motor and wiring harness/computer in, and possibly a stronger clutch if manual.
