I flushed mine with a CLR knockoff yesterday, finally......HEAT! I suffered through last winter with barely any heat after selling my DD and relying on the Lebaron. Big mistake....drafty top, no heat, leather seats = sad panda.

I use the Prestone flush stuff at first. It gets most of the build up out. After that I flush it the same way you would run a boat out of water. Engine running, pump hooked to water source, radiator pet---- open. When the water is coming out of the radiator clean I close the pet----, go one more round with the Prestone stuff, then repeat the vehicle running procedure. It works great and costs less than 15 bucks. If rust is in the system it means that at some point in the engine's life it was ran without antifreeze or coolant treatment. If antifreeze is present it can't rust. If there is sludge built up and the car has always had antifreeze in it then there is a good chance the sludge is engine oil. This means serious issues that need attention.
