Heater core leak. Quick fix? (cause I'm lazy? lol)

I put the heat on in my Neon, and got a strong coolant smell. Went away just after I turned the temp control back to cold.

Anyone have any "snake oil" ideas? I could always pull the hoses off the firewall and just pump something through the core, bypassing the engine and rad.

I've tried irontite with good results, barring that, the old bypass trick works.

I have had luck with the old alumaseal, doesn't clog up and doesn't turn to mud.
