    Dim brake light

While on the way to work a couple days ago my left turn signal would stay on but would not blink...when I got to work a co worker noticed my left brake light was out as well. Yesterday I replaced both brake light bulbs and grounded the ground wire to a nut that was nearby (as suggested on other similar threads). My left turn signal was still not flashing so I replaced the flasher inside the glove box and that fixed the signal but now my left brakes light is working but it's a lot dimmer than the right side brake light. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks car is a 88 CSX-T.

verify a good ground back at the left rear, thats what causes dim lights (resistance)

If its anything like my shadow the actual ground on the bulb socket barely made contact. I soldered the ground right to the socket and it worked good as new

Ill try moving the ground wire again, right now it's between a nut and the body in the rear left side near the tail light socket. Thanks for the input, well see what happens.

Are both the bulbs left and right with the same number?

I had this problem also and the bulb was a different number that was lower watage output.

The grounds in the actual sockets can go bad too, requiring a replacement socket.

I didn't look at the wattage, it was a two pack and I assumed they were the same bulb.

Ajakeski, I was referring to the single black ground wire going into the socket that I grounded elsewhere. Is there another one?

The ground wire in the socket is the one i was referring to. You can solder it right to the socket and the other end to a clean chassis ground and be good

I was talking about the socket end of the ground.
Rock auto should have replacement sockets.

Should be 2057 bulb. Double check. Working on the same problem on my car. Wasn't the bulb. Need to check the grounds.
