    86 Dodge Shelby Charger T2/555

    Full Name: Tyler Larsen

    Contact: tylerlarsen224@gmail.com
    Selling or Wanted Price: $1500

    Description:

This is my brothers 86 Shelby charger that I am selling for him. It was a project car until he had to move out state, so I'm selling it for him.

    -Recent parts added-
Stock rebuilt 88 T2 motor with one piece intake
    555 trans
    G body rad/intercooler
    87 T2 LM and PM
    Fuel pump and filter
    Fuel lines
    Koni adjustable front struts (used)
Eibach springs on the front (used)
    Axles
    Ball joints
    Tie rod ends
    Slim radiator fan
    Motor mounts
    Braided steel turbo oil feed
    2.5 inch swing valve
    Talon bov
    Front tires
16" pumpers with 4 CS center caps

So here's the story. We got the car with no motor or trans. We found an 88 Shelby-z that we pulled all the T2 stuff from. We ran into some electrical issues and never got the car n the road. I recently rewired and replaced the map and solved the problem. The car will start right up and will run and drive, but it really hasn't been driven other than around the block, so I'm sure it will still need some work. Exterior obviously needs to be painted, and it does have a couple door dings. Interior is complete, but shows a bit of wear. We replaced the dash pad and the steering wheel, but the seats are worn and need to be cleaned. Carpet has been replaced In the past, but needs to be replaced again. Floors are solid, no real rust to speak of. Drivers side door, and both rear quarters behind the tires are showing rust.

The car will need some exhaust work as it does not have a down pipe. I am including a 3" g body cat back exhaust if the new owner wants it. Car also comes with rear louvers. The only other issue I know of is that the gas gauge doesn't seem to work. Overall this is an awesome project that will only need a little work to get on the road.

Asking $1500 or would consider trades

I exactly the same car back in the day before it got into a fight with another car and a wall on a high overpass. (don't ask)
There were only something like 387 silver/blue shelby chargers in '86!

Interesting front strut mount washer/bearing setup.
It almost looks like the top large top cup washer is on upside down... Is it from another car? I didn't think they made eibach springs for the lbody.

I expected that the strut top would hit the hood this way and had to check the picture to see if there were dents in the hood from the strut but I don't see any.

Yeah, it's a pretty rare color combo. It's actually the second one in this color combo he's owned. I've actually never looked into the suspension setup in detail as it was installed when we got the car. I'll have to double check it and confirm everything.

I should have been more clear, only 387 silver and blue shelby chargers in '86.

There were some '85s aswell but the turboed silver/blue was much more rare than the carbed version.

Just curious on the suspension since I dabble in that area and the setup looked unique to me.

Too bad my life only has enough room for one project car (and that doesn't even run).

Tyler 85 or 86? Swapped the spoiler? Regardless, I would love this car. If I can make a deal with the Emperor that will secure peace in Cloud City, I may be buying it. Always wanted a silver with blue. There was one in Memphis a while back, but a certain pair of brothers.......I won't name names of the two from the Pittsburgh area......O_o came to Memphis and got it right from under my nose.

Just kidding Billy, still giving you grief! hehe

Good catch, it must be an 85. Unfortunately all the TM guys here in Utah are getting out of the hobby, so this car may be sitting in my driveway for a long time.

It took two years to sell it. LOL. It was bought buy a guy named Greg in Pleasant Grove. I suspect he'll be joining the forum eventually as he starts to work on it.

I'd love to one day replace my Lebaron with a Shelby Charger I could hold onto forever. That's the TM I've really wanted ever since I got over the Daytona lust I grew up with. Never can seem to come across one around here though.

Anyone on this thread have any other Shelby Chargers for sale or know of anyone that has one for sale? I used to own an 85 black/silver Shelby Charger and want one again. Preferably black/silver again as well. Would appreciate if anyone has any information.

It's an old thread but, if you're interested I have one I need to get rid of. I was gonna fix it up but 3 other car projects while building a house, it's a pipe dream. I'm in Beersheba Springs, TN. If you're interested I'll post pics and more info.
