    1998 Caravan a-604

A friend has this mini and the trans(604) won't move in gear cold. Once it gets a little warm, it works fine. I know there can be more than one thing causing something like this, but what would you guys say is the most likely culprit(s) in this situation. Also, it has somewhere around 190K+ miles on it. Thanks.

Low fluid level would be the first thing to check.
Codes would be the second. I would suspect a loss of prime code.
Clear code, if that's the only one and then if the problem persists, I would expect a clogged filter. It "could" be as simple as needing some routine maintenence.

I might get it and play around with it. At worst, I sell it to my neighbor and make a few bones on it.

3 quarts of Lucas will do that .... though you could actually ask... and get "Yeah, I had a bit of a leak, it stopped after the 3rd bottle.." then find the axle seals looking like botoxed lips...

But yeah, vote for fluid and filter change and scrying the tealeaves in the pan.....

oh and beat the piss out of it with the fresh fluid in, that should clean up any solenoids that were getting a bit sticky.
