a/f ratio question AND smoke problem question

88 dodge lancer shelby 2.2 turbo 2. Ended up trying each one of the wires to the o2 sensor for the a/f ratio gauge. The white n one of the black both red furthest rich didnt move the other read lean and was bouncing but never bounces up to rich or middle like it should. Is the second hand gauge junk or did i fry it when trying different wirez? SECOND: My car smokes i believe blueish after i boost it up n get off the gas as its rumbling n def when i get back on the ggas normal. I was thinking the worst as in rings, seets... but thwn sombody told me exhaust gasket in the turbo is allowing it to drip oil into the exhaust sidee. Please help anybody. Thanks.

You probably smoked the gauge. The three wires going to the o2 sensor are: battery positive, ground, and signal return. Since the O2 signal ranges from 0v to 1v, if you hooked it up to the 12v for the heater element in the O2, then the gauge it probably toast.

Your blue smoke is probably coming from the turbo. From the symptoms you stated that would be my guess.

Thats what i figured with the gauge. How hard would it be to fix the smoking problem and cost?

If you need to replace the turbo you're going to have to price that out with one of our vendors. Then you have to figure out if you're going to do the work or if you're going to pay somebody to do it. If you pay somebody, book time on that can be anywhere between 4 and 6 hours.

You can check valve seals. Pull the valve cover and rotate the engine so you can see each valve not compressed and make sure the valve seals are down where they need to be.

I will check that also thank you. Since its my only and daily driver. Im getting a back up this weekend. In the mean time ive been drivin cuz i have to work but babying it. Ive noticed it also developed a wierd idol when its warm and cold. It is starting to idol like a v8 with a blower on it.not much but it does. Havent did that before. Is that linked to my head or turbo problem? Thanks

Sounds like the turbo is flushed down the toilet. Had that issue with my Daytona. It would smoke like crazy on a decelerating.then clear out once I got on the gas. Got so bad that it finally smoked like a mosquito chaser at idle.
