I don't know about TU's stainless steel valves but I've heard that a back cut is good. But I've also heard that grooves cut on the back is good because it helps the air roll off the valve easier. Kind of like what MPG Mike does to the ports on his cylinder heads. The third picture down I've read about doing that to the back of a valve http://www.allpar.com/fix/holler/per...d-economy.html. I believe it was a BMW thread but it's been a long time since I've seen it.

If they don't have one, adding it should help flow a bit, not a whole lot, but it does make a difference.
