thanks for the tip Andy, you should try to make it down to the meeting this coming month...i'll have the car there...

so i got at it early this morn, tackled one last issue that i was kind of putting off... some how some way... im going to leave it to just one of those things.... the shifter lever was bent... pulled the two detent levers off to find what looked like the shift cable to be too short... wonder if it was like an Lbody cable or something like that... so i decided to undo the cable retainer and saw the rubber boot had slid forward, making it look like the clamp surface 3/4' away from where its supposed to be.. well, had another shift lever, so put that on, slide the boot back into place and "wala!" problem solved!!!

idk about any of you but i love these little daunting tasks!!! puts that much more sense of pride in the car!!!

hmmm - was that preventing it from going into the lower gears? Never realized it was a problem. But what I do remember is that I couldn't get it in gear when on a hill.

Third from the end of an empty row of cars. Probably will be crushed by next week.
57,000 miles on the clock. Interior is nice, body is rusty.
Tail Gate is nice, left tail light is unbroken. Grille is mising a piece.
I took the front caliper brackets.

Re: my $100 89 Lancer Shelby... + a trip to NJ

i think im going to head up there tomorrow... "pick n pull" an few things... took the car out to burn up some gas last night, put like 80 or so mile on it... damn gas gauge barely moved!!! not that im complaining but i want to get come fresh gas in her...lol how ever i did average like 35 MPG last night!!!

shes a strong runner!! esp for being a mitsu turbo.... you know if thats a stock CAL in the car ralph or has it been worked, cause she sure does pull hard thru the gears!!! 13 psi will rip the tire loose thru first and second gear!!! god i love having boost again!!!

That cluster looked nice, definitely worth grabbing. The numbers on that odometer are still nice and white.

Im pretty sure that is the stock cal. I did have the MP computer for it but I think I took it out because it wasnt running right with in. It does have the boost controller on it. u sure it was 13 PSI?

i pulled that boost controller out and put my vacuum manifold in instead, which has 2 G valves in it, (2 for dual stage boost control) but were not at that level yet..

That vinyl dye works pretty well. I have dyed grey seats black - but that is easier than brown to grey I would think.

Re: my $100 89 Lancer Shelby... + a trip to NJ

yeah never tried that stuff... i have a set of grey cloth base daytona seats which are extremly comfortable... but im also going to look into getting the seat re skined.... we have a place here in town that is show stopping work... but im sure a pretty penny is to follow...

you werent pulling my leg Ralph when you said she was a driver!! went up to milwaukee today, 160 mile round trip, and the car didnt skip a beat!!! burned up most of the older gas, filled her back up with 93 and a bit of cleaner...

all in all i couldnt be any more happy with it Ralph!! but kicking myself for not going thru some of the extra parts you had... like that MP computer or the tail light...

Re: my $100 89 Lancer Shelby... + a trip to NJ

well had a bad night with the car, i had gone out to go do a job estimate, and figure its a bit of a cruise so ill take the ecobox lancer... well decided to stop by a turboRons shop shop, cause i could smell a residual oil burning smell... soo wanted to go put it up on the lift and check it out... well while up on the lift and noticing the oil leak if far greater than i expected we decided to start the motor and see if there was an aparent leak... no dice... noting showing it ugly face... this will tkae a bit of digging

however during the process of tring to track the leak down , the brakes were depressed a few time and wouldn you know dam brake line let go!!!! URGH!!!!.... ok sooo really didnt have time to fix it at the shop, plus im already planning a rear disc swap so atleast i now have a valid excuse to do so now... so I called up MoparFreak and borrowed his trailer... well Ron had some finishing up to do and he gave me a ride back to my house (THANKS RON!!!!!!!) went and grabbed the dolly and headed back to the shop where i left the lancer... by this time its like midnight... get to the shop, load up the car.... nice cruise home untill i get back home....

get the car unstrapped which for some reason fought me like Tito Ortiz... backed the car off and as i came over the lil hump on the dolly, the ratchet end flipped up, caught the front lip and ripped the pass side of the lip off!!!! AHHHHHHHHHH!!!! FML!!!!!!

needless to say about 1:30 this morning, as some of you on FB know< i was not a happy camper!!! im more pi$$ed about the lip than the brakes right now... however, upon inspection in the day light, nothing actually tore off, it just popped out the side clips undamaged!!!!... so i can fix that thank god!!

i have to say tho the car choose the best place possible for the line to let go... not on the road doing 45 coming up to the unsuspecting red light...

on a good note tho, got my MSD box and late model coil in the car, and seemed to help alot with the rough idle!!! and alot smoother at cruising speeds!!!

    here check it out

the last one is of the LS on the trailer... again...

I actually like when that happens in the shop or on the driveway, as opposed to say barreling down the highway, or the side of a mountain etc...

I try and provoke mine every so often, when I know I've got a "close to home" weekend, with stuff that could be blown off for an emergency, I'll do a double foot stand on the brakes Friday night or Saturday morning... stress test.
