I believe the manifold has to be redrilled

I thought the fords had garrett turbo's?

It depends on what model number holset you have, if its a he341 or 351 you need to do any welding on the compressor housing for the charge pipe to clear the cyl head. If its a hy35, hx35 you will need to weld an elbow to clear the head.

Yes you will need to drill the exhaust manifold, now comes the fun part after this is done. Power steering will be in the way unless you make a really tight bend at the turbo for the exhaust or you can upgrade to a zf (new style) power steering pump and will gain about an inch more clearance.

Now depending on what car you have you will need to bang the firewall back abit to make room for the compressor housing, its a tight fit on an L body.

If you do a quick search on here and type the word holset you will see some answers with pics.

when we put one on my brothers CSX-T we used a he341 and we re-drilled the exhaust manifold, and used a newer style Powersteering pump, then made our own downpipe.

Ford's don't use Holsets. What year Ford, some are VGT that use oil pressure.

My H1C came off a ford truck, pretty sure it was a pre-powerstroke era one. Guy I bought it from complained about having to buy a new V-band clamp for the compressor outlet from Ford for it.

Some of those Holsets are WAY too big for our cars, make sure you check the specs on it first, Your car will be slower if you can't spool the turbo until 4000 RPM

Actually, 4000rpm would be Good spool time for a Holset on an 8v and you would be Much Faster. Ask me how I know. lol

What you don't want is a turbo that spools 5-6-7 thou rpm...............

    sick!!!

My holset also starts to make me smile at 4000rpms, and for some people that is simple too much lag!

The hy-35 fits well without any mods to the fire wall. Anywhere from 1/2" to 3/4" clearance.
