ok, so im kicking the idea around of doing a full 2.0/2.4L swap in the omni, however plan on running a neon... now i know the mods to do to the 413, but what are some of the mods for the neon auto that can be done.. valve body mods, accum mod, gov mods...???
and go!! lol

Even better, some of the mods might already be done, as in holes in the spacer plate might already be the right size. Two outa four from the original shift kit instructions anyhoo.

Yeah, if you have any FSM covering the A-413 you'll be fine. Even I can do a little auto work on the neon trans so it can't be that bad. lol.
yeah i'v done the valve body mods and accumulator, and i know how to adjust bands... im not looking for a full race trans, hell this is going to be behind a bone stock 2.0L... i just want something that is going to shift like it should...
i just wasnt sure if i follow the 413 mods and if there were anything else to do w/o anything more than dropping the pan...

no prob just a SOHC with a shot of nitrous... im trying to get this going by monster mopar to try to get the field up for a FWD class... i can find running neons all over for like 500 bucks... i want to gut it, throw the drivetrian in the omni and run it...how ever after that (im assuming the motor will be toast by the end) yes the omni will be going 2.4L... but for now just a 2.0L stock on stock electronics...
If you can find a DOHC head the'll scream right out of the box RPM wise. I'm sure you already know that, but it's something to think about. The engine side wiring harnesses are super easy to pull so that's nice too.
wheres the ECU on them, under hood or in the car?? ive seen a few DOHC 5 speeds on CL... if a DOHC comes around ill jump on that!
It's under the hood pretty much where the computer is on all of our cars. Two bolts going int the frame like on our cars and one holding it down on the pass side rear corner. Most of those are pretty rusted so a large screwdriver to pry on the tab while turning the nut is usually a must. To get the connector off of the case there are tabs on the top and bottom that you have to squeeze. I've never been able to do it while the computer is still mounted in the car.Originally Posted by 22shelby

Absolutely. I've always thought there was a reason it's listed in the books as the PL body.
